Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170-bed hospital serving an eight-county region in East Tennessee’s Lakeway Area. The facility includes more than 20 emergency suites, advanced laboratories, radiology, and therapy services, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for mammograms, biopsies, and nurse navigation. Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
  • Current Tennessee RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the tuberculosis surveillance and immunization programs: organizes department employees, ensures that all procedures are documented, follows-up with employees with problems, maintains each department's compliance records, and performs tests/immunizations accurately.
  • Performs employment history and physical assessment.
  • Makes initial evaluation concerning employee's ability to be hired.
  • Assesses and treats work-related and non-work-related health problems per protocols and within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Identifies and makes appropriate referrals for health problems which are outside the scope of nursing practice.
  • Assess educational needs of employees.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate to employees about pertinent occupational health problems.
  • Maintains verbal and written health information about employees in a confidential manner.
  • Prepares employees for exams; performs initial functions (i.e. vital signs).
  • Assists NP/MD as needed.
  • Serves as a resource to managers and employees.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals in the interdisciplinary fashion to promote quality care for the employee.
  • Identifies equipment and supply needs; maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Determines the need for prophylactic measures for individuals exposed to communicable disease in consultation with NP/MD or established protocol.
  • Presents employee health information to new employees at new employee orientation.
  • Documents all pertinent information in the employee health record in an appropriate manner.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Completes required education assignments annually.
  • Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
