JOB PURPOSE: This internship is designed to improve the candidate’s knowledge and experience in the Employee Benefits field. This person will interact with all members of the Account and Production teams. Projects and tasks will vary based on capacity but will include an introduction to the marketing process, agency management system, vendor interaction, data management, underwriting, and client work.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be a Sophomore or Junior studying Risk Management and Insurance, with a focus on Employee Benefits.
  • Must possess a high level of motivation and excellent attention to detail.
  • A high school diploma required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Above average spelling and grammar skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High level of organizational ability and ability to multi-task.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to be proactive and work independently.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Proficient in Graham standard computer applications.
  • Employees are required to be fit-for-duty which includes not being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. This includes any drugs that might impact an employee’s ability to safely perform their job.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Agency Management System.
  • Assist with analyzing and summarizing claims information.
  • Review insurance company contracts for accuracy.
  • Attend carrier presentations learning about product offerings.
  • Research and development.
  • Assist Technical Development Department with department audits.
  • Participate in various professional development and educational sessions with East Region intern cohort.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
  • Attend meetings related to your position.
