Emergency Veterinary Technician

Requirements
- Experienced Veterinary Technician
- Proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
- Ability to obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
- Ability to identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Ability to properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Ability to induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Ability to triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
- Ability to perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
- Ability to place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Responsibilities
