About The Position

VCA Veterinary Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center, in Middleton, WI is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Team! Compensation: $25 - 32/hr and pay starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available. We also offer a shift differential to all hourly associates who work within a specific timeframe. Schedule: Full-time, Overnight/ 3rd shift. Scheduled hours would be 11 pm - 8 am, with every other weekend. Snapshot of the Role: As an Emergency team member, you will support the Emergency doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Our Emergency and Critical Care Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload. Our Technicians have the opportunity to sharpen and advance their technical skills every day.

Requirements

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
  • Eligible to transfer current license to the state or obtain state credentialing within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and prioritize incoming emergency cases
  • Coordinate ER flow by assigning clinicians and ensuring timely patient care
  • Provide high-quality nursing care and monitor critically ill or injured patients
  • Place IV catheters, perform diagnostic testing, and administer treatments
  • Assist in and monitor anesthesia for emergency procedures; manage patient recovery
  • Support clinicians during exams, procedures, and diagnostic imaging (radiographs, labs)
  • Communicate clearly with clients about patient status and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records, enter charges, and complete treatment sheets
  • Collaborate with CSRs and team members to ensure a smooth client experience
  • Maintain cleanliness, follow infection control protocols, and ensure proper patient restraint
  • Participate in continuing education and ongoing professional development
