About The Position

We are currently looking to hire an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at Animal Emergency Hospital of Gainesville in Gainesville, Georgia! Location: 275 Pearl Nix Pkwy #3, Gainesville, GA 30501 Animal Emergency Hospital of Gainesville provides urgent and critical care to pets in the Gainesville, GA community. Our collaborative, teaching-focused team works in a fast-paced ER environment with a steady caseload. Technicians here play a hands-on role in triage, stabilization, anesthesia, and advanced diagnostics, supported by strong staffing ratios (2–4 techs per DVM) and modern equipment including in-house IDEXX labs, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Georgia is strongly preferred
  • 2 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Skilled in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Confident with medical math and drug calculations
  • Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
  • Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis

Nice To Haves

  • Prior emergency and critical care experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • All other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
