The headings in this Job Description are for reference only and shall not affect its interpretation. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Fleet Shop Supervisor, the EVT performs maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of automotive, firefighting apparatus, and ambulance equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards. EVT Level I focuses on preventive maintenance and routine repairs, while EVT Level II performs advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and serves as a technical resource for others. Distinguishing Characteristics: EVT I: Entry-level or intermediate technician responsible for scheduled preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics, and routine repairs under established guidelines. EVT II: Advanced technician with specialized expertise in complex diagnostics, technical troubleshooting, and repair of intricate systems. May assist with training and mentoring of EVT I.
