About The Position

Overview Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordintor or Senior Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS). The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator or Senior Emergency Preparedness Coordinator contributes to the execution of the Facility Drill Program (FDP) for assigned Liquid Waste (LW) high hazard and core facilities in compliance with DOE Order, Site Manuals and LW Emergency Management program performance-based requirements. Conducts training drills and evaluated exercises to ensure performance of watch-stander personnel in response to facility emergencies. Performs assessments to evaluate and demonstrate functional area programmatic compliance and readiness.

Requirements

  • High School, Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and applicable experience in emergency preparedness field execution, training, procedures, nuclear facility operations or closely related experience
  • Up to three years’ work experience in an operations/maintenance/technical type role in a high hazard, nuclear or highly regulated industrial plant/facility environment may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the emergency preparedness work experience.
  • This position falls under DOE Order 426.2 and as such must meet the conditions of the order. This may require additional specific training and/or knowledge dependent on position’s duties and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with DOE Order 151.1D, Comprehensive Emergency Management
  • State, federal or municipal experience in a regulated field such as FEMA, military service, law enforcement, public health or education
  • Demonstrated capability for producing high quality work plans, reports, and assessments
  • Demonstrated capability for developing professional verbal and written communications or presentations
  • Working knowledge of applicable DOE Orders (e.g., DOE O 151.1D, Comprehensive Emergency Management, DOE O 150.1B, Continuity Programs, DOE 153.1, Departmental Radiological Emergency Response Assets)

Responsibilities

  • Completes Drill Controller/Evaluator training and maintains qualification
  • Completes Self-Assessment Course to achieve Assessor qualification
  • Assists with execution of the assigned Facility Drill Program (FDP)
  • Assists in development of the assigned FDP annual drill and exercise schedule
  • Assists in the development of post drill/exercise documentation per established organizational schedule and format standards
  • Assists in coordination with appropriate Safety & Health organizations to identify monitoring and safety equipment required to support FDP needs
  • Assists in coordination of Safeguards Security & Emergency Services (SS&ES) and Protective Forces (PF) interfaces with FDP execution
  • Performs periodic inspections of emergency equipment storage locations in assigned facilities, ensuring proper inventories, equipment maintenance, etc.
  • Assists in performance of periodic programmatic assessments of assigned facility
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Contributes to proposed changes to safety-related documents associated with impacts on the assigned FDP
  • Maintains responsibility for various administrative/support tasks (e.g. qualification tracking, key performance indicator update/review, training schedule coordination, etc.) for assigned FDP
  • May occasionally act as program representative for company-level briefings and meetings and/or representative/liaison between the company and M&O contractor or DOE-SR
  • May occasionally act as backup for Emergency Management Manager
