About The Position

The Emergency Preparedness/Safety Coordinator organizes the Emergency Management and Safety program. The Emergency Preparedness/Safety Coordinator ensures planning, budgeting, training, and programming related to emergency preparedness/safety and response functions within regulatory guidelines. The Emergency Preparedness/Safety Coordinator serves as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance and works directly with to develop, implement, manage, and continually improve hospital-wide emergency preparedness, fire safety, community response plans, and programs to improve the organizations ability to respond to emergencies, effectively manage incidents, and systematically restore the hospital to full operation following adverse events. The hospital Safety Coordinator assists in development and implementation safety policies, conducts inspections, and investigates incidents to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. This position is Part Time, 16 hours every 2 weeks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required; a bachelor's degree in emergency management, business administration, public administration, fire administration, political science or a related field is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
  • Successful completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 300, 400 and National Incident Management System (NIMS) 700 and 800 training is required.
  • Must hold valid driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable under RHSHC insurance policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification is preferred.
  • Certification as a trainer for NIMS or ICS training is preferred.
