About The Position

As an Email and Lead Generation Senior Specialist at GS1 US, you have the opportunity to join a dynamic organization that is constantly innovating and never stagnant. Reporting to the Director of Digital Content Operations, this role is crucial for ensuring the right message goes out to the right person at the right time, while maintaining brand compliance. This position qualifies for participation in our annual employee bonus program. Requirements

  • You offer 1–2 years of practical experience in email marketing, lead generation, or a closely related role, supported by a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a similar discipline.
  • Your background includes demonstrated proficiency with marketing automation platforms—especially Marketo—and CRM integration tools like Microsoft Dynamics.
  • You’re comfortable working with basic HTML and bring an analytical mindset that’s well-suited to campaign tracking and performance analysis.
  • Your communication skills are a standout, with particular strength in writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • You understand the nuances of customer journey mapping and lifecycle marketing, and you’re adept at managing complex projects from initial concept through final execution.
  • Whether working independently or within a cross-functional team, you navigate challenges with confidence and clarity.
  • In short, you will work with marketing program leads to plan and design email marketing campaigns to support membership, products, events, and supply chain topics.

Nice To Haves

  • In addition to these core strengths, you also bring valuable experience in agile development environments.
  • A working knowledge of UX/UI design principles, and familiarity with GS1 US standards and solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and launch email marketing campaigns, including promotional batch campaigns and automated nurture emails in Marketo.
  • Manage audience segmentation to ensure effective targeting.
  • Work with marketing stakeholders to create effective marketing lists using behaviors, demographics and firmographics in order to maximize deliverability and engagement rates.
  • Manage A/B testing strategy for email including developing test hypotheses, segmenting audiences, and creating variations of subject lines, copy, layouts, and calls-to-action.
  • Analyze and share test results and recommend strategies for improving open rates, click-through rates, and overall engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive email communications calendar that ensures timely and strategic campaign execution.
  • Work with marketing program leads to plan and schedule email sends based on new content offerings, promotional events, standards releases and the customer journey.
  • Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other relevant email regulations.
  • Maintain email database hygiene to ensure optimal deliverability and campaign performance.
  • Overall monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing of email communications, including delivery, opens and clicks.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize lead scoring programs to prioritize leads for sales.
  • Analyze scoring effectiveness, refine program parameters, and leverage data insights to prioritize high-value prospects.
  • Support the integration of scoring programs into CRM to ensure business stakeholder alignment and usage into sales campaign framework.
  • Execute content updates on the brand and store sites
  • Support implementation of merchandising placements throughout brand and store sites.
  • Support management of digital assets including images, videos, and PDFs.
