About The Position

The EM Technology Operations Supervisor is an advanced-level position. This position will focus on technology offerings deployment and support. This position will serve as the dealership’s technology administrator and general Point of Contact for technology offerings. This position will supervise Connectivity Specialist and Technology Admin team members. This position will manage subscription invoices and CAT Grade license purchases. This position will be the dealer champion for API import and export feeds. This position requires training and mentoring, internal and external customers in various CAT Technology platforms. Those platforms include VisionLink, Visionlink Productivity, Dealer Service Portal, Customer Admin Tool, Electronic Technician, Technician Toolbox, CAT Grade, and others as required. Will also assist the EM Technology Operations Manager in promoting and tracking Cat programs and Cat initiatives. This position can work out of any Thompson Tractor Earthmoving branch location within our territory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in Customer Solutions.
  • Candidates for this position should possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of Thompson parts system, and have effective communication skills.
  • Experience using personal computers including Microsoft Word, Excel and basic typing skills are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Visionlink subscription accuracy and invoice tracking when applicable.
  • Internal contact for all connectivity related issues.
  • Manage Dealer Service Portal (DSP), VL subscription portal. Manage machines in our territory without subscriptions and subscribed machines that are outside of our EM territory.
  • CCID Creation and Management. Verify customers and link them to their CCID. If they don’t have a CCID, create and link it to their AX account number (DCN).
  • Developing training support programs for Technology offerings – Visionlink & Visionlink Productivity being the primary applications with potential for others as needed.
  • Create, maintain and coordinate schedules for Connectivity Specialist to install, repair and maintain Product Link hardware.
  • Accurate purchase and invoicing of CAT Grade licenses. Know or be able to quickly acquire the necessary skills to identify CAT Grade machines and the process for purchasing Grade licenses and ensuring the purchased licenses are applied for invoicing.
  • Purchase and invoice aftermarket SEAs for machine technology upgrades.
  • Maintaining accurate Equipment Data records. Managing equipment records, assigning machines to customers’ CCID.
  • Develop and distribute monthly reports on Caterpillar Technology ABP.
  • Track Caterpillar technology promotional programs
  • Work closely with Sales, Support and Service departments regarding their technology support needs.
  • Receive and process PDI VL registration and reporting request for new machines sales and Heavy Rents machines.
  • Understand the process to apply AMEP 2.0 and Visionlink APIs.
  • Understand how to import other OEM telematics feeds.
