Requirements

  • A High School Diploma and two (2) years' experience in call center, clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business.
  • A Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

  • A valid drivers license is required.
  • Must be able to travel within the state for the purpose of training and meetings to include overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • The Eligibility Specialist II is responsible for coordinating screenings for SNAP recipients and scheduling orientation appointments in the database system for the Employment & Training Program.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in program statues and services offered through South Carolina's SNAP Employment and Training Program. Effectively utilize systems and databases to screen participant referrals and schedule orientation appointments daily.
  • Collaborates with program coordinators regarding appointments scheduled monthly for their planned orientations appointments
  • Makes referrals for all 46 counties and utilize the system to review and determine any changes or updates that may need to be made. Correspond to emails and phone calls.
  • To ensure that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
