About The Position

Professional, temporary teaching staff are needed to teach in the 2026 Elementary Summer Learning Program . Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until March 1, 2026 . Teachers will be expected to implement innovative instructional techniques that improve student achievement. Emphasis will be placed on higher-level thinking skills, connecting learning to prior knowledge, cooperative learning, active learner participation, and technology integration. The actual number of positions depends on enrollment. Classrooms will feature teachers who co-plan and co-teach. If one co-teacher is absent, the other will take on all standard professional responsibilities without extra pay. Substitute teachers will not be provided during this summer's program. Progress reports must be submitted to parents on the program's final day. McGregor Elementary 1101 W. First St July 13 - 30, 2026 Monday – Thursday Staff Hours: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm Mandatory Staff Meeting July 9, 2026, from 8 am – 1 pm Interviews are scheduled for the end of March.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
  • Desire to work with at-risk students
  • Willingness to work with students who need to be academically challenged
  • Must be available to work the entire length of the program
