About The Position

Partnership Academy has a strong commitment to culturally and developmentally relevant instruction that meets all students’ social, emotional, academic, and linguistic needs. Through the creation of this new administrative position, Partnership Academy seeks to bolster support for a strong, engaged, and collaborative cohort of educators. The Elementary Principal would work closely with the school leadership team to provide professional support, coaching, training, accountability, and coordination for the school to consistently demonstrate its core Values in Action. The Elementary Principal will primarily: - Support school programs and curriculum implementation, including literacy, math, science, social studies, social and emotional learning, specialist courses, intervention, and middle school advising with an eye for culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogies. - Hire and supervise selected instructional staff by providing frequent coaching, mentoring, and feedback relevant to instruction, collaboration, leadership, interpersonal skills, and equity. - Supervise and develop elementary instructional coaches. - Provide conflict resolution and problem-solving support for coaching and program management. - Conduct informal and formal observations using the System for Teacher and Student Advancement - -- Program (TAP) to provide feedback, engage in ongoing instructional dialogue, and support educators through modeling and collaboration. - Facilitate professional development, data meetings, and professional learning opportunities for teachers that center research-based best practices, provide improvement of instructional planning and practice, and methods for increasing student engagement, access, and academic rigor. - Manage data collection and analysis at the classroom, grade, and school level to report on progress and make adjustments in approach and best serve student and community needs. - Act as an integrator between teams, departments, programs, and individuals to provide a smooth, thoughtful, equity-oriented school wide experience for students, staff, and families. - Strive for continuous reflection and improvement on an individual and systems level. - Supervise and manage PA’s Elementary Intervention team - Lead and support instruction by coaching, model teaching co-teaching, managing coverage (sometimes providing coverage) to ensure students have high quality instruction. We are looking for an administrator who can collaborate effectively and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, and possess (and continues to develop) instructional knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Minnesota Teaching License required
  • At least 3 years of licensed educational experience at the elementary or K-8 school level
  • Strong knowledge in learning processes, models, theories and educational technologies, trends, developments and best practices
  • Training and demonstrated practice in cultural competency and equity
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students at a variety of grade levels
  • Experience working in a leadership capacity with adults
  • Works in standard office and school building environments
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles
  • Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts
  • Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
  • Ability to develop and implement projects
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth

Responsibilities

  • Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, provide leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of Partnership Academy’s Elementary School programming in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law
  • To provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development
  • Develops and administers school programs consistent with school district goals and objectives
  • Provides leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extracurricular activities
  • Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning
  • Ensures that Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
  • Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and reporting for all student activities, attendance and records as required by law
  • Coordinates the work of school staff and school district program leaders to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs
  • Coordinates with the central office in recruitment and selection of employees, the proper maintenance of employee personnel files, the administration of collective bargaining agreements, corrective action, and other human resource issues
  • Organizes and conducts regular meetings with teachers for continuing development of instructional techniques
  • Involves staff in the evaluation of programs and the planning of new programs
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
  • Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies
  • Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment
  • Organizes and manages the budgetary and financial affairs of the school consistent with school district policies
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Duties include responsibilities for coordinating the hiring of all staff; evaluating instructional personnel; implementing and overseeing building budget(s); coordinating and implementing district initiatives within the building; performing community/public relations activities in addressing and resolving issues, concerns and programs of the middle school with staff, parents, administration and the community.
