About The Position
James Irwin Elementary School – Howard Campus is seeking a passionate and engaging Elementary Music Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This teacher will inspire a love of music in students while delivering structured, high-quality instruction. The ideal candidate is positive, solutions-focused, and committed to doing what is best for students. This role includes teaching K–5 music classes, planning performances and concerts, and supporting school culture through music programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- One of the following:
- Colorado teaching license with Music endorsement
- Degree in Music or related field
- 36 credit hours in music
- Passing score on approved content exam (Praxis)
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach elementary music (K–5)
- Plan and lead performances, concerts, and programs
- Support extracurricular opportunities such as choir (seasonal)
- Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents
- Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment
