About The Position
James Irwin Elementary School – Howard Campus is seeking a creative and engaging Elementary Art Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This teacher will inspire creativity and artistic expression in students while delivering structured, high-quality instruction. The ideal candidate is positive, solutions-focused, and committed to doing what is best for students. This role includes teaching K–5 art classes, planning student art displays or showcases, and supporting school culture through visual arts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- One of the following:
- Colorado teaching license with Art endorsement
- Degree in Art or related field
- 36 credit hours in art
- Passing score on approved content exam (Praxis)
- Experience working with children preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach elementary art (K–5)
- Plan and implement engaging art lessons and projects
- Organize student artwork displays and/or school showcases
- Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents
- Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment
