Every member of our team is a valuable resource in this pursuit of excellence, and we are currently seeking an Elementary Intervention Paraprofessional for Waterloo Elementary! What your day will look like: Under supervision, you will perform a variety of instructional activities; assist in the conduct of student learning experiences; perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel, and do other related work as required.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, push or otherwise move 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting instructional personnel with the presentation of learning materials and in conducting instructional exercises.
  • Tutoring individual students and small groups of students to reinforce and follow up on learning activities.
  • Monitoring and assisting students in practice and study activities as a follow-up to the presentation of instructional concepts by instructional personnel.
  • Directing students into safe learning activities and functions, and assisting in the shaping of appropriate social behaviors.
  • Assisting in the management of student behavior through the use of positive strategies and techniques.
  • Preparing and assisting in the preparation of a variety of instructional materials and learning aids for use with an individual or small group of students.
  • Maintaining a variety of records and files, including confidential student records and information.
  • Maintaining student record confidentiality.
  • Operating and assisting students in the operation of a variety of instructional media machines and equipment.
  • Administering and scoring a variety of criterion-referenced and general aptitude tests, and record the test results.
  • Assisting in maintaining an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.
  • Participating in parent conferences and other student progress report activities.
