About The Position

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional with current expertise in operations and maintenance of U.S. Navy Submarine Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and associated doctrine. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and is comfortable splitting time between several functional areas associated with the Submarine Force and other communities. What You Will Be Doing : Applying your technical and operational expertise, you’ll joining our engineers and subject matter experts in the research, design, development, testing, and evaluation of modern EW and other related electro-mechanical systems. Leveraging your operational experience, you’ll be directly supporting customers such as NUWC and PMS435 in the development and updating of doctrine and technical publications supporting the fleet. Additionally, you’ll be working with training commands such as Submarine Learning Center and Naval Submarine School to update and develop training for the next generation of servicemembers. Requirements

  • 7 years active duty service in U.S. Navy Submarine Force, ending within the last 10 years
  • Operational experience across various submarine platforms (e.g. SSN 688, SSBN 726, SSGN 726, SSN 21, SSN 774) and EW equipment (e.g. AN/BLQ-10, AN/ULR-22), in various configurations
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in analysis, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and/or certification/qualification of EW, Imaging, Carry-on Equipment, and/or other electronic systems
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years active duty service in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force with experience across multiple submarine platforms and a variety of EW and Imaging (e.g. Type-18/8 periscopes, Photonics Masts, ISIS) equipment
  • 10 years relevant experience in analysis, testing, and/or certification/qualification of EW, Imaging, carry-on equipment, and/or other electronic systems
  • 3 years relevant experience in military instruction and/or curriculum development
  • Cryptologic Operator experience applying complex collection and analysis techniques with analog and digital equipment. C14A, C17A, C22A, C24A, and C34A Navy Enlisted Classifications highly desired
  • An ability to work independently with minimal oversight while consistently making deliverables on time
  • Proven record for first time quality and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to work across governmental offices and ranks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical information in concise and easy to understand language
  • Familiarity with and ability to support authoring of doctrine and system employment products
  • Open to frequent travel
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and work packages
  • Ability to use and interpret a variety of electronic test equipment
  • Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
  • Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check. Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
