JOB SUMMARY: This position, supporting the 142d Fighter Wing in Portland, OR, provides technical support for Air Combat Training Systems (ACTS) – formerly known as Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) - operations across a wide array of aircraft and missions in support of training and exercise requirements for U.S. Air National Guard (ANG) flight training operations from the Portland, OR ANG Base in designated training airspace and ranges. Typical duties include: operating and maintaining (ACTS) and associated computer equipment; assisting with producing debriefing materials as required; verifying accuracy of information received; following technical guidance as instructed by higher level supervisors; assist the mission coordinator and range training officer as required; apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting instructions, manuals, or similar documents. Working from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and diagrams; repairing and/or replacing malfunctioning units as directed; setting up and operating standard electronic testing equipment; using hand power tools and hand tools and simple machine power tools to fabricate electronic components if applicable.
