About The Position

This position, located at Eielson AFB, Alaska, functions in the dual capacity of operator-maintainer to safely and realistically operate and maintain fully functional systems, equipment or circuits (such as radar, radio, telecommunication, video) for maximum training and mission effectiveness supporting combat force training. Exercise independent judgment and apply detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits while performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Apply advanced technical knowledge while performing preventive and corrective maintenance action for safe, serviceable and properly configured systems; this includes actions to inspect, service, align/adjust/calibrate, prevent/control corrosion, modify/upgrade equipment and documentation IAW approved directives, and re-establish systems after movements and deployments, as well as solve complex problems through fault detection/troubleshooting/isolation, repair, removing and reinstalling. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field is highly desired (or the equivalent Vocational, or military training)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience is required
  • US Citizen // Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain) is required to start
  • Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license
  • Must meet all requirements for a flight-line driving permit
  • Physical ability to assist in lifting, maneuvering, and carrying ACTS/ACMI pods in a variety of environments, including shop, warehouse, bay, and flight-line
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate basic and some advanced technical knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and devices, interpret circuit diagrams to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents, as well as demonstrate knowledge in the use of test instruments such as Oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltage and frequency meters, and computer control equipment and analyzers.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish pod transport, loading and unloading on all relevant aircraft
  • Performance periodic, preventive, and corrective AS/Pod maintenance
  • Perform system installation, preparation for use and reshipment.
  • Maintain Range Remote Units and all associated communications equipment
  • Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data
  • Identify and report product quality/materials deficiencies
  • Perform equipment status reporting, as well as maintenance data/job documentation
  • Prepare and deliver all reports and required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with TDXi Quality Control and Safety Programs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program manager
