About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician (IOR) – Optics to support the Space Force Range contract. Key Responsibilities Operate, maintain and repair precision Optical Tracking Telescope Systems Analyze optical tracking equipment and system problems to resolution Maintain Objective Quality Evidence (OQE), Configuration Documentation (CD/CM), and other records Identify areas of process improvement and recommend efficiencies Prepare and deliver reports per schedules Assist in modification, sustainment, depot-level actions and systems checks/calibrations Perform launch and other mission support, using Standard Operating Procedures Perform tracking operations; collect and maintain associated data within customer and procedural requirements Troubleshoot to component level, test, repair, calibrate, adjust, install and inspect instrumentation Complete assigned training Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0 - 2 years’ experience as an electronic technician
  • Good personal computer and software application skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience working with standard electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, video generators, wave-form generators, and analog/digital meters
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational, time management, administrative and prioritization skills
  • Ability to write reports
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, elevation, and assembly drawings
  • Ability to work well independently and also as an active team member in a medium-sized group
  • Ability to be flexible, maintain a positive attitude, be reliable and work under pressure in a very dynamic environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the public
  • Ability to work in remote locations (alone or in pairs) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for extended durations
  • Ability lift, carry and maneuver 40 pound Optical components
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with basic optical and tracking techniques for large aperture/long focal length telescopes, preferred
  • Experience related to the operations and maintenance of Optical tracking systems, including advanced optical sensor and computer controlled tracking techniques and methodologies, preferred
  • Experience with Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS)/SMARTT and/or other maintenance control systems, preferred
  • Experience working with inventory, property control, logistics, and quality standards, preferred
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of common Test Range Optical Tracking Systems (e.g. DOAMS, ATOTS, KTM, Cinetheodolite), preferred
  • Experience with videography (National Television Standards Committee (NTSC) Standards and High Definition) and photography (35mm motion picture film), preferred
