About The Position

Lockheed Martin is looking for an early career Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to support the Orlando, FL site. This candidate will be responsible for the hardware development for military electronics housed within flight worthy assemblies including CCAs and harnesses. Activities will require cross-functional coordination to complete hardware design efforts and support integration efforts for the designated electronic system. The selected candidate will research, develop, design component equipment, and design networks for military application. The successful candidate will have knowledge of conceptual and detail design skills, knowledge of mechanical drawing standards and experience with detail, assembly, and installation type drawings. This candidate will support CCA/ PCB design and documentation. Must be a US Citizen;  this position will require a government security clearance.  This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's in a related field from an accredited university. Preferred degree type is Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Experience with CREO, Catia, or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Hardware prototype experience, such as 3D printing.
  • Experience with creating hardware drawings, drawing instructions, assembly instructions, Bill of Material (BOM), technical documentation, test documentation, etc. using CAD tools.
  • Must have a security clearance or ability to obtain.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Previous internship is desired.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles.
  • Experience with Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Agile PLM or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as IPC, IEEE, VITA, and MIL-STD.
  • Experience with machine design, mechanical components, mechanical design, machine shops, etc.
