Electro-Mechanical Technician
About The Position
Spring Glen Fresh Foods is currently seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for a 1st Shift Position. This role is critical for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production and packaging equipment. The technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on various manufacturing systems, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years’ experience in electrical systems, including starters, fuses, contacts, relays, and frequency drives.
- Proven ability to read and interpret product manuals, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- technical or vocational training preferred.
- Experience with compressors and ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
- Proficiency with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) preferred.
- Experience with pumps and packaging systems preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on advanced production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
- Conducts breakdown analysis to identify root causes and recommends long-term solutions.
- Assists with production line upgrades, including the installation and integration of new technologies.
- Executes line changeovers for product or packaging adjustments.
- Monitors and enforces compliance with GMP, safety protocols, and audit standards.
- Works independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment consistent with good housekeeping practices.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
