Job Description: Purpose: Under general supervision, this position leads and performs tasks in repair, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and circuits.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years experience in repair, testing, maintenance or installation or electrical systems or equipment.
One (1) additional year of relevant work experience may substitute for one (1) year of the required education, with a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
Appropriate licensing may be required.
Knowledge of basic electricity.
Knowledge of safety rules and procedures when working with energized electrical equipment.
Knowledge of building codes applicable to level of construction.
Knowledge of equipment tools and materials used in electrical maintenance and construction.
Skill in the use of hand tools common to the electrical trade.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics

Nice To Haves

Commercial experience in repair, maintenance, or installation of electrical systems.
Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Word and Excel for reporting purposes.
Possess a valid State of Texas Apprentice Electrician License.
Ability to travel to more than one work location.

Responsibilities

Pulls wire, conduit, cable, etc.
Connects power cables to equipment, including generators, alarm systems, lighting systems, etc.
Conducts on-the-job training.
Assigns duties and monitor task completion.
Uses various electrician hand tools, including snips, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, etc.
Operates soldering tools.
Reads profiles and blueprints.
Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit using rulers and hand tools.
Installs wire, conduit, coaxial cable, etc.
Installs conductors.
Splices electrical wiring, including stripping insulation, twisting wires together, soldering tape, appling terminal caps, etc.
Operates various power saws, such as radial arm, skill, etc.
Operates drills, buffers, grinders, sanders, etc.
Operates electronic testing equipment.
