Electrician II - Caswell Developmental Center
About The Position
The Electrician II position is a journey-level role focused on the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Working independently under general supervision, Electrician IIs perform tasks according to accepted trade practices, with complex assignments typically accompanied by blueprints or sketches. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing or replacing wiring, electrical devices, medical equipment, and machinery, as well as installing new circuits and entertainment equipment. Preventive maintenance is regularly conducted to ensure continued functionality and safety of systems. Electrician IIs must follow all safety and health protocols, including proper lifting techniques, use of protective gear, and compliance with infection control guidelines. All incidents must be reported immediately, and additional duties may be assigned to support the effective management of Caswell Center and the well-being of its clients. Work is evaluated through inspections and ongoing system performance.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
Nice To Haves
- Considerable knowledge of standard practices and methods in the electrical trade, along with strong skills in the proper use and maintenance of trade tools.
- Proficient in identifying and correcting defects in electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings allows me to work accurately and efficiently.
- Follow both oral and written instructions with precision and have experience training others in the electrical trade.
- A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities
