About The Position

The purpose of this position is to teach high school students content focused on electrical trades for application in consumer and career settings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of National Electric Code, A/C Theory, Grounding and Bonding Techniques.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and technical skills required to design and operate small processing machines and equipment.
  • Expertise in data and problem analysis, creative thinking, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Ability to read blueprints and detailed drawings.
  • Ability to read and utilize various measuring tools.
  • Ability to solve basic engineering calculation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating and delivering project presentations.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, Internet, spreadsheet, word processing and related applications.
  • Must meet one of the following education and work experience combinations: HS Diploma/GED with six (6) years related work experience. Associate degree in related field (Carpentry, Construction Management, Building Construction, Electrician, Electrical Trades) with four (4) years related work experience. Bachelor degree in related field (Carpentry, Construction Management, Building Construction, Electrician, Electrical Trades) with two (2) years related work experience.
  • Hold 74026 Trade and Industrial Construction License or be eligible for an 74026 Technology Education license with an appropriate degree and work experience.
  • OSHA 10-Hour construction Safety prior to classroom instruction; pass NCCER Instructor Certified Training Program (ICTP) for Craft Professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and instruct technical/electrical skills including aspects of electrical trades with emphasis on the development of skills in residential wiring, electrical installation, and service.
  • Instruct and demonstrate proper safety practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop and implement instructional plans and activities in the electrical laboratory.
  • Build positive relationships with students by providing meaningful and current instruction and by individualizing programs.
  • Create and plan effective curriculum-based projects and activities correlated with a specific National Electric Code and electrical theory concept in mind.
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools used in the program.
  • Manage inventory control including purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
