About The Position

CTE Construction Teacher — Power Technical Early College (PTEC) Location: Colorado Springs, CO Salary: $45,000–$50,000 DOE Schedule: Full-Time | 191 Days (Late July–May) | Paid over 12 months About PTEC Power Technical Early College is a grades 6–12 school preparing students for both college and skilled trades. We integrate core academics with hands-on learning in construction, welding, machining, electrical, plumbing, manufacturing, and CAD/Engineering. Students apply theory daily through real-world shop projects using our structured Direct Instruction model with coaching and lesson plan support. Position Summary The CTE Construction Teacher leads hands-on construction instruction, guiding students from small builds to full projects, including participation in a two-year home build partnership with Careers in Construction Colorado, the Colorado Housing & Building Association, and Habitat for Humanity. This role requires strong classroom management, safety oversight, and the ability to supervise multiple student groups in active shop environments.

Requirements

Must meet one: Bachelor’s + 2,000 construction hours Associate’s + 4,000 construction hours Military veteran with construction experience
Also required: Ability to operate trade tools safely
Strong classroom management
Ability to work with grades 8–12
Ability to learn structured teaching methods
