About The Position

We are seeking a technically skilled Service Testing Technician to perform electrical testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear systems. The ideal candidate has approximately two years of experience in electrical testing, industrial equipment diagnostics, or manufacturing environments and is comfortable working with electrical testing instruments and mechanical equipment.
Travel may account for approximately 35% of assignments, with company support for hotel accommodations, fuel, and per diem during customer site visits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Approximately 2 years of experience in electrical testing, manufacturing, or industrial equipment diagnostics
• Familiarity with transformer and switchgear testing procedures
• Ability to operate electrical testing instruments, hand tools, and power tools safely
• Basic understanding of transformer insulation materials and troubleshooting principles
• Ability to work outdoors and in industrial environments with varying conditions
• Willingness to travel approximately 35% for field service assignments
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and safety

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing and diagnostic inspections on transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers
• Conduct specialized testing procedures including insulation resistance, turns ratio, winding resistance, power factor, hi-pot testing, and induced tests
• Evaluate equipment performance and identify electrical or operational abnormalities
• Document test results and prepare detailed technical reports for engineering and quality teams
• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment when positioning electrical equipment for testing
• Assist with transformer oil handling, including draining, filling, and inspection procedures
• Inspect transformer components and internal electrical connections when authorized
• Follow environmental containment procedures and workplace safety standards
• Communicate testing observations and equipment conditions clearly to supervisors and customers
