About The Position

The Electrical Technician is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and all related control systems, sub-systems, and related equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of commercial/industrial experience
  • Documentation of completed apprenticeship program for electricians
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through training and/or experience to perform all duties
  • Ability to maintain a government security clearance.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.
  • Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
  • Ability to follow a process.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
  • Must be able to communicate issues to management.
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of relevant standards

Nice To Haves

  • Previous military / government Logistics experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Able to work independently, analyze situations, and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Follow NEC electrical code to install and repair electrical systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Use schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications provide by the customer or provided for required equipment
  • Work with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment
  • Install and repair electrical and control systems
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit
  • Troubleshoot electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, control systems, lighting, and power supplies
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Inspect systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or need for adjustment or repair, and ensure compliance with codes
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on required systems
  • Utilizes knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems.
