About The Position

Join Torch Technologies, a forefront innovator in advanced technology solutions, as an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. This internship is an excellent opportunity for engineering students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world projects. Interns will work under the mentorship of experienced professionals and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technological solutions supporting government and defense customers. During this internship, you will have the opportunity to: Gain hands-on experience in electrical engineering Provide input in the complete product development cycle from CAD design and material selection through iterative prototyping and electrical testing Collaborate with our engineering team to design, prototype, and test functional 3D printed low-voltage connectors Duration and Location Duration: 12-week summer internship (May 13, 2026 – August 7, 2026) Location: Detroit, MI Schedule: Full-time During your internship, you may: Assist with technical tasks related to electrical engineering Participate in design and material selection Assist with electrical testing and prototyping

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Understanding of voltage, current, resistance, and basic connector theory
  • Basic CAD skills (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks)
  • U.S. Citizen
  • At least 18 years old
  • Actively enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited educational institution
  • In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule for the duration of the internship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience from class or internships in manufacturing processes, CAD, additive manufacturing, and/or material science
  • Coursework in electrical circuits, electronics, or power systems
