Job Description: Electrical Engineering Intern – Sentinel SDC/IDM (2nd-Year Focus) Parsons is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support development of engineering criteria and guidance deliverables (SDC/IDM) for the Sentinel program. This role is ideal for a 2nd-year Electrical Engineering student who is detail-oriented, eager to learn how major programs manage technical criteria, and motivated to contribute through research, organization, and disciplined documentation support.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program (2nd-year standing at internship start).
  • Completion of foundational coursework (typical: calculus-based physics, intro circuits).
  • Strong writing and organization skills for technical notes, trackers, and minutes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint); able to learn SharePoint/workflows.
  • Ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team and follow structured review/configuration processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic power systems exposure (single-line familiarity, distribution fundamentals).
  • Prior experience with structured documentation, configuration control, or checklists.
  • Ability to read/extract from technical standards (with supervision).
  • Interest in infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or systems-engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and organize electrical inputs for criteria documents (e.g., distribution concepts, grounding/bonding, power quality, lightning protection, interfaces), as applicable.
  • Structure content into clear, review-ready formats (tables, outlines, checklists).
  • Maintain trackers for assumptions, open items, and decisions; provide weekly summaries.
  • Track and support comment resolution (owners, dispositions, closure evidence) and produce meeting rollups.
  • Support document control in the repository (file naming, versioning, correct draft routing).
  • Draft meeting minutes and action logs; capture decisions and follow-ups accurately.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure electrical interfaces are consistent.
