KBR is looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern that will contribute to the Electrical Engineering Department by learning technical skills required for a power systems electrical engineer while assisting with valuable deliverables for our customer’s projects. What to expect: As an intern In the Electrical Department, you will gain practical experience to understand what a day in the life of an electrical power engineer looks like and perform tangible meaningful work to reinforce your skills as an electrical engineer while making an impact on real world customers. Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies, and procedures Attend customer site meetings and field walk downs Validate and mark-up one-line diagrams to validate electrical engineering work Write and support study reports and work scopes Assist in reviewing electrical power equipment drawings and documentation Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing at equipment supplier facilities Support commissioning efforts either in Houston or on location at customer site Develop electrical load lists Develop cable schedules Develop organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources, producing tangible results Work with internal and external engineering resources to develop the required deliverables for the Engineering Stage Gate Process Communicate and resolve technical issues as related to project assigned tasks Successfully communicate with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, and all other departments Ensure all project documentation for his/her own work is completed Examples of work rotations: Assist senior designer in the development of power system designs. This will require use of AutoCAD and potentially Visio. You will learn physical requirements and how to design an electrical network Support commissioning and start up at a customer site by walking the site and validate engineering deliverables are complete by performing field verifications and updating documentation to reflect the As-Build state or highlight inconsistencies and work to resolve them. In this rotation, you will have real world hands on site commissioning experience. Support development of engineering deliverables ss part of the FEED (front end engineering and design) process including developing load lists, cable schedules, one-line diagrams, and FAT test plans. This rotation could include attending and assisting with an FAT. You will learn how to create deliverables for each stage of the FEED process.
