About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Electrical Engineering Intern in Grand Prairie, TX The successful candidate will demonstrate highly innovative approaches to resolve difficult production and design issues and will be responsible for assisting production and development teams in resolving technical challenges, incorporating engineering changes, and updating drawings and assembly parts lists. The ideal candidate will also develop new designs and tooling. The candidate will support hardware operations and may provide support to engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations, as well as supplier support.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelors of Science Degree from an accredited university in the field of Electrical Engineering or similar major.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to circuit theory. This may include experience with schematic capture & PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad, etc.)
  • Familiarity with use of electrical test equipment (multimeter, power supplies, oscilloscope, spectrum/network analyzer, signal generators, data acquisition system, etc.)
  • Demonstrated successful electrical lab individual or project work.
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Involvement in senior design, capstone project, research projects, or interdisciplinary work (e.g., designing a power‑converter, building a sensor system)
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, Simulink, NI Multisim or MATLAB).
  • Basic programming experience (C/C++, Python, or embedded C).
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Exposure to breadboarding or prototype assembly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, work with system integration issues, design challenges, etc. demonstrated through hands-on experience.
  • Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g., SAE, ASME competitions, hackathons, etc).
  • Familiarity with industry standards (IPC, IEEE, IEC)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Active clearance.
