About The Position

AECOM’s Buildings + Places Business Line is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support our aviation, commercial, federal, higher education, infrastructure, laboratory, municipal, transportation, warehouse, water projects in our Dallas, TX or Houston TX offices. Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related fields from an ABET-accredited university and must have completed at least two years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for this position. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving, and writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and commercially available engineering analysis packages.
  • Evidence of participation in university extracurricular clubs, such as IEEE or SAE.
  • Coursework in Calculus, Physics, and Computer Science.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard codes & techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks associated with the technical design and layout of electrical systems for commercial and other facility types. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, and details within Autodesk Revit.
  • Work under the mentorship and supervision of a senior engineer.
