About The Position

The Electrical Engineer - Electrical Systems / Sub Sea will support various project in Houston, TX. We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and lifecycle support of electrical and electronic systems for subsea human-occupied vehicles and habitats. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of power distribution, control, and monitoring systems that ensure occupant safety, system reliability, and compliance with classification society requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in subsea electrical systems, connectors, and controls, along with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and innovative solutions.

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, ocean engineering, or related discipline.
  • Must have 3+ years of recent and related work experience in electrical design and integration ideally with subsea systems, human-occupied submersibles, or similar safety-critical applications (Comparable experience in other complex engineering environments will also be considered) .
  • In lieu of degree: Candidates with 7+ years of recent and related experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools for schematic and wiring diagram development.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills for engineering reports and client documentation.
  • Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with classification society certification for subsea electrical systems (DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register).
  • Strong knowledge of subsea electrical design standards and practices, including high-reliability connectors, penetrators, and subsea cabling.
  • Knowledge of subsea life support electrical requirements (power redundancy, safety interlocks, emergency systems).
  • Familiarity with digital monitoring, subsea sensors, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience contributing to deepwater or ultra-deepwater subsea projects.
  • Experience with testing methods such as insulation resistance, hipot, and hyperbaric testing.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and subsea monitoring instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and document electrical systems for subsea human-occupied vehicles and habitats, including power distribution, control panels, lighting, and monitoring systems.
  • Specify and integrate subsea connectors, penetrators, cabling, and junction boxes for man-rated environments.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support fabrication, testing, and certification.
  • Support the selection and qualification of subsea electrical components in accordance with applicable standards (DNV, ABS, IEEE, IEC).
  • Provide engineering support during assembly, integration, testing, and commissioning of subsea electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with life support, mechanical, and controls teams to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
  • Participate in hyperbaric, electrical load, insulation resistance, and functionality testing of subsea electrical systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause investigations related to electrical components and systems.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout all engineering activities
  • Other duties as assigned.
