Peraton is seeking an accomplished Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical oversight, design review, and systems evaluation support for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) modernization and infrastructure programs. This role focuses on site survey activities, power systems and circuits, and testing, diagnostics, and instrumentation that ensure the operational integrity of critical FAA facilities and systems supporting the National Airspace System (NAS). In this position, you will: Serve as a trusted technical advisor-guiding engineering design, performing system evaluations, and verifying that all installations and upgrades meet FAA standards for safety, reliability, and performance. Lead and conduct site surveys of FAA facilities to assess existing electrical infrastructure and readiness for modernization. Provide technical expertise in power systems, circuits, grounding, and electrical distribution networks. Perform system evaluations, diagnostic testing, and failure analysis to identify risks and recommend corrective actions. Oversee instrumentation and measurement activities, ensuring accuracy and calibration integrity for test equipment. Review and validate electrical design documents, schematics, and circuit layouts for compliance with FAA and NEC standards. Support installation planning, load analysis, and power quality assessments across multiple FAA sites. Develop technical reports, risk assessments, and mitigation recommendations for FAA leadership. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, civil, and IT engineering) to ensure system integration and performance. Support system commissioning, acceptance testing, and ongoing maintenance evaluations. Provide mentoring and guidance to field teams on testing methodologies, diagnostic procedures, and safety compliance. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute testing and acceptance protocols for critical systems. Experience preparing audit-ready technical documentation for compliance reviews. Proven ability to collaborate with contractors, site personnel, and project managers.
