Electrical Design Technician - MEP

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced Civil CAD Operator or Designer to join their MEP team in St. Pete, FL (Florida). This is not a remote position. Requirements
- High School Degree (Preferred Associates Degree (or higher) with emphasis on Drafting and Design Technology from an accredited technical institution or college in engineering
- 3+ years of electrical experience in multiple project types such as office, hospitality, retail, mixed use, highrise design, multifamily, and some solar design
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Willingness to mentor and teach others
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
- Proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards for complex electrical systems for multiple project types such as office, multifamily, mixed-use, retail, & hospitality projects
- Develop technical drawings and plans
- Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
- Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
- May supervise and train REVIT and CAD drafters
- Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
- Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
