About The Position

Your role The Capacity Manager is responsible for a portfolio of Colocation sites. Lead person for Power & Cooling capacities and resources in response to rapid growth and changing business dynamics. You will be a subject matter expert for a portfolio of sites, interacting with Sales Engineering team on pre-sales activities. Planning, reporting, and managing the IT Load & Cooling capacity inside Data halls to maximize available resources to meet Organizational financial goals. In certain markets also involved and responsible for Engineering Designs, Contractors, Commissioning Agents for infrastructure upgrades and expansions. Play an important role supporting a large data center portfolio, including a robust, ongoing flow of expansion projects. Expand your skills and knowledge in technology, project management and leadership in a broad, fast-paced role.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent.
  • Understanding of business processes and drivers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communicator with both business users and technical project staff.
  • Ability to Lead and Manage effectively simultaneous projects remotely.
  • A solid technical background, excellent leadership skills, professional approach, good organizational skills, and the ability to produce quality work.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and application of standards and processes.
  • High self-motivation and strong delivery focus.
  • Proactive ability to work with users to define business requirements.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and development specifications.
  • Ability to work remotely with light supervision and high productivity output.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and generate options for new business deliverables.
  • Experience supporting a 24x7 mission critical operations center or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ACAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer) and or/equivalents
  • Must be able to resolve customer problems effectively.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ of electrical engineering experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Became an expert of ample variety of Power & Cooling Engineering Designs portfolio.
  • Interface with Sales Engineers to design tailored solutions for AC&DC Power and Cooling.
  • Verify customer-specific terms and apply them to Digital Realty suite of products.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the appropriate business users to understand the key business drivers and priorities.
  • Oversees development of appropriate supporting IT solutions and system enhancements.
  • Learn and understand DLR Business Model and daily operations.
  • Travel about 20% to Sites to develop Engineering scope and perform quality control, Support continual process improvement through providing key reporting metrics and developing new reporting tools.
  • Manage data for periodic reporting updates on available capacities.
  • Manage distribution capacity for AC, DC power and Cooling.
  • Managing capacities and resources in response to changing business dynamics.
  • Assist in the Turn up and Commissioning of new distribution systems to ensure accuracy on documentation and across software platforms and Engineering Files.
  • Manage and Coordinate Vendors during Colocation Expansion & Capital upgrade Projects.
  • Ensure prompt and on time capacity additions to meet sales and customer demands.
