About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Assembly & Troubleshooting Technician with a strong background in DC and AC electrical wiring and troubleshooting to support the assembly of both EX (Explosion-Proof) and non-EX lift trucks. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical issues during assembly, rework, and inspection while ensuring all equipment meets quality, safety, and applicable hazardous-location requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong background in DC and AC electrical wiring and troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working on mobile equipment, industrial machinery, or vehicle electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly prints.
  • Knowledge of wiring harness construction, grounding practices, terminals, connectors, and crimping methods.
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools (multimeters, continuity testers, insulation testers).
  • Strong attention to detail with a safety-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EX / explosion-proof equipment or hazardous-location electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with Intrinsically Safe (IS) circuits, sealed enclosures, and EX wiring requirements.
  • Experience troubleshooting lift trucks or similar mobile industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of controllers, relays, contactors, solenoids, sensors, and CAN or similar communication systems.
  • Experience supporting electrical audits, inspections, or certification efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot DC and AC electrical systems on EX and non-EX lift trucks during assembly, sub-assembly, and final inspection.
  • Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, EX control drawings, and assembly prints.
  • Diagnose electrical issues involving wiring harnesses, terminations, connectors, sensors, controllers, and power distribution systems.
  • Verify correct wire gauge, length, labeling, routing, and termination per engineering prints and company standards.
  • Ensure proper installation of explosion-proof enclosures, conduit, seals, grounding, and Intrinsically Safe (IS) wiring on EX trucks.
  • Identify and correct wiring issues such as miswired circuits, open/short circuits, grounding faults, and damaged components.
  • Perform continuity, voltage, and insulation resistance testing using approved diagnostic tools.
  • Support assembly personnel by providing guidance on proper electrical practices for both EX and non-EX configurations.
  • Document electrical issues, root causes, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Assembly teams to resolve recurring electrical issues and improve designs.
  • Support rework, retrofits, and engineering changes while maintaining EX compliance where required.
