The Electric Distribution Reliability team within the overall Electric Engineering organization is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the resources necessary to successfully execute PG&E’s Electric Distribution Reliability Strategy and initiatives. This team of forward–thinking individuals will be tasked with deploying technology and infrastructure and influencing the organization to achieve the company’s reliability goals. The team is responsible for implementing programs required to modernize the electric grid allowing for safe, resilient, and efficient operations. The team participates in a cross functional department of internal and consulting participants tasked with leading the transition of a project from development and testing to being operational for each phase of each project. Position Summary The Intern Engineer ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the electric power system by providing innovative engineering support via assignments in asset or component development, reliability analysis and improvement, or long and short term system planning and implementation. The engineer may work on assignments supporting distribution or distribution network systems. This includes gathering reliability information to facilitate the development of distribution reliability strategy and metrics. The engineer may be accountable to support budget development, tracking, work plan commitments, projections, and overall financials of assigned reliability improvement programs. The engineer maintains knowledge of and adheres to all company and regulatory safety and quality processes and procedures. PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37
