The Electric Operations department at PG&E is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to customers, encompassing all aspects of electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. The Electric Line Assistant is an entry-level position, represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245. This role involves assisting journeyman or apprentice lineman/cable splicer in performing required work, including semi-skilled tasks that may involve the use of hand and portable power tools. The employee will assist in overhead and underground line construction, maintenance, and other miscellaneous semi-skilled work. The starting wage for this position is $35.82 per hour, and it is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The role requires a 2-year commitment. Preference will be given to applicants residing within 35 miles of the Pismo Beach headquarter location. This position may also be a DOT-covered classification, subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
