About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Electric Distribution Engineer III to join our Electric Distribution Team in Reading, PA or Fort Washington, PA, where you’ll play a key role in planning, designing, and implementing electric distribution infrastructure that strengthens grid resiliency and supports the evolving energy landscape. This position offers remote capabilities; however, local field work responsibilities are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (PLS-CADD, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports for overhead, underground, and underwater electric distribution projects
  • Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff or technical leadership
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard procedures and best practices for safety, reliability, and resiliency
  • Monitor project progress and performance, acting quickly to resolve operational issues and minimize delays in critical infrastructure
  • Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including field assignments and site assessments
