About The Position

Lake County Job Opening The Lake County Elections Department is accepting applications for: Temporary Election Clerk QUALIFICATIONS: Must be knowledgeable in modern office methods, practices, and procedures, Business English, punctuation, spelling, and arithmetic; and must be skilled in computer data entry, Microsoft Office, Internet functions, and the use of office equipment. Must possess a valid Driver's license; be detail-oriented; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships, and remain calm and react appropriately during stressful situations. DUTIES: Perform a variety of complex clerical duties involving elections, registering voters, answering the public's questions, and answering the telephone; prepare outgoing mail and receiving mail; maintain records; must be able to work independently; may perform physical duties, such as bending, stooping, standing, using a step-ladder, intermittent strenuous physical activity, and moving boxes weighing up to 65 lbs. HOURS/DAYS: Hours will vary. M-F; some evenings and weekends. Applicant must be able to work a flexible/varied schedule from February through November 2026. This position will not start work until mid to late February 2026 WAGE: $16.75/hourly. This position will remain open until filled.
