Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Nice To Haves

  • Arrthymia course or training.
  • EKG technician experience.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Performs non-invasive cardiology testing to include EKGs, SAEKGs, pacemaker phone checks, and Holter monitor application.
  • Assists with cardiac stress testing and other non-invasive cardiology procedures.
  • Provides patient education, preparation, and post-procedural care as defined by unit policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Reports any changes in the patient’s clinical presentation to the charge nurse or the patient’s physician.
  • Maintains accurate organization of files and records.
  • Assures copies of transcriptions are filed and sent to physician offices in a timely manner.
  • Assigns and inputs correct charges to patients.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
