About The Position

The EHS Technician supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) functions across Gulfport’s corporate and field locations. This role is responsible for data analytics, data management, technical writing, reporting, and system administration for the EHS department. The ideal candidate excels at organizing complex information, delivering accurate and timely reporting, analytical thinking and problem solving, attention to detail, and supporting EHS initiatives that enhance compliance, safety culture, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including complex Excel functions (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Experience developing dashboards and analytical reports in Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and present meaningful insights.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Highly proficient in EHS technical writing and policy formatting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments consistently with a high degree of accuracy
  • Initiative to work independently, but also effective in a team setting
  • 2 or 4-year college degree at an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of experience, preferably in an EHS, operations, or a compliance-focused environment.
  • Experience in Technical writing and policy formatting

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred working knowledge with KPA or similar EHS management systems; ability to administer workflows, audits, and reporting.
  • Experience with EHS reporting systems (KPA, ISNetworld, PowerBI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day EHS program operations for corporate and field locations.
  • Maintain, track, and organize confidential EHS records, including incidents, near-misses, environmental events, and training documentation.
  • Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence, presentations, and technical reports for both corporate and field teams.
  • Maintain and track all EHS or operational documents and ensure compliance with internal document control procedures
  • Compile, analyze and report EHS data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Develop dashboards and data visualizations in Power BI to communicate leading/lagging indicators and EHS performance trends.
  • Serve as an administrator for KPA, Power BI, Training Learning Management Systems and other EHS software including data entry templates, workflows, dashboards, and reporting functions.
  • Assist in developing and administering the company’s vendor management process.
  • Provide and complete EHS metric benchmarking surveys as a member of industry trade groups or organizations.
  • Maintain and complete all OSHA records annually for both corporate and field offices
  • Partner with field teams and corporate stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submission of EHS trending/metric data, monthly training reports, and other EHS compliance reports as requested.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the EHS team by recommending process efficiencies and tools that enhance program effectiveness.
  • Support special projects and EHS initiatives assigned by management.
