The EHS Technician II will perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company EHS procedures, facilitate risk assessments, perform safety audits, assist in EHS training, policy implementation, incident investigations, and various office and database tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in EHS preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Computer literate and capable of learning specialized software packages.
  • Ability to solve a wide range of problems with support from EHS professional staff on complex issues.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude.
  • Committed to continuous improvement in products, services, and processes.
  • Self-motivated/directed individual possessing written and verbal communication skills, along with great organizational, project leadership, and teaming abilities.
  • Ability to create and effectively deliver training.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in EHS or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company EHS procedures including stormwater, fire extinguisher inspections, emergency eyewash/safety shower inspections, flammable cabinets, emergency lights and tests, and proper storage and/or disposal of waste.
  • Facilitate risk assessments of machine guarding, LOTO, forklift operations, and other areas of high-risk exposure.
  • Perform department-specific safety audits to ensure employees are utilizing safe work practices such as utilizing proper PPE, minimizing trip hazards, wearing fall protection, etc.
  • Assist in the development of EHS training programs and conduct training as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation and compliance of site-specific safety policies.
  • Assist in the creation of job hazard analysis and PPE assessments.
  • Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations offering advice and best practices solutions where appropriate.
  • Ensure all incident reports are prepared correctly and factually relevant, accurate, and admissible as a legal document.
  • Assists in office tasks such as filing, printing, generating purchase requisitions, getting quotes, handling vendors, and record keeping.
  • Assist in Gensuite database with data entry and closure of tasks.
  • Assist with wastewater treatment operations as needed.
  • Other Job duties as assigned.
