This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of EHS professionals, you will assist in the implementation and execution of all Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Huntsville, AL sites and our Blue Batteries site at Grandview, MO (may require 25% travel). Technical safety program areas include, but not limited to: chemicals, fire safety, confined space, electrical safety, machine guarding, cranes, forklifts, explosives, cryogenics, lasers, robotics, process safety management, and radiation safety. You must have be a self-started and have a passion for continuous improvement of a safety culture and building agile safety processes. You will oversee waste disposal and remediation work including but not limited to hazardous and non-hazardous waste; ensure local compliance auditing; execute the emergency response plans; indoctrinate in-field employees and contractors on our Safety Program and deliver training; assist in investigations of injuries and illnesses, as well as near misses; and support the development of job hazard analyses. Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in operational EHS roles
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of close call reporting practices and processes
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience working in safety or environmental roles
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Knowledge of Federal, Alabama or Missouri safety and environmental regulations
  • HAZMAT and/or emergency response team experience

Responsibilities
