About The Position

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries. We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Deployed Operations EHS Technician to provide environmental, health, and safety support across our deployed test operations and local manufacturing and build teams at our Atlanta facility. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient operations both on-site and at remote test locations in California, New Mexico, Florida, and Georgia. The position requires approximately 50% travel to deployed operations sites and 50% hands-on EHS support at our Atlanta facility.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in EHS technician roles within manufacturing, aerospace, or technical operations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with chemical handling, waste management, PPE, and general EHS support.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to deployed operations sites in CA, NM, FL, and GA.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Professional certifications (CET, CHMM, CSP, CIH) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on EHS support to deployed operations sites (CA, NM, FL, GA) and manufacturing and build teams in Atlanta.
  • Maintain and stock PPE and other safety equipment for both deployed and on-site teams.
  • Manage hazardous materials and waste, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Maintain EHS compliance in all work areas, including hazard signage, chemical storage, and general housekeeping.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining safety programs, procedures, and employee training.
  • Support build, test, and flight activities with an on-the-ground EHS presence.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and identify opportunities for safety improvements.
  • Track and report EHS metrics and support reporting to leadership.
