About The Position

The EHS Supervisor is a critical role responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position acts as a leader and subject matter expert in EHS, implementing programs that align with regulatory standards and organizational goals. The EHS Supervisor will work directly with plant management to implement Corporate HSE initiatives and monitor progress towards a zero-injury culture. This position will oversee and supervise the site EHS coordinator.

Requirements

  • BS in industrial hygiene, safety or environmental science is preferred; or relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience of 3-5 years, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point; Proficient in navigating OSHA, EPA and other key HSE regulations/web sites.
  • Ability to supervise and oversee the EHS coordinator.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, dependability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food packaging a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor compliance with safety, environmental, food safety, and GMP regulations, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Guide, direct and develop the site EHS coordinator, to assist the location with EHS program implementation.
  • Mentor the site EHS coordinator to be successful and grow in their position.
  • Implement, and maintain safety and environmental policies, programs, and procedures to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents, injuries, and near-misses.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to mitigate future risks.
  • Deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and managers, including orientation, toolbox talks, and specialized safety courses.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and industrial hygiene monitoring to identify hazards and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Oversee emergency response plans.
  • Lead hazard control practices to mitigate risks.
  • Prepare monthly EHS reports, summarizing key metrics, training activities, and safety performance data to inform decision-making.
  • Actively participate in and lead the plant’s Safety Committee, fostering a culture of safety through collaboration and proactive engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance EHS programs and implement innovative solutions to drive safety performance, support plant goals, and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Travel up to 10%.
