As an EHS Senior Associate, your ability to meet team targets will help in completing important deliverables on time. How You Will Achieve It Administer site’s industrial hygiene program by assisting with development and implementation of procedures and activities with the area/department owners’ participation in assuring they comply with OSHA regulations and Pfizer standards. Conducts industrial hygiene assessments of new products, processes, and capital investments which leads to identification and implementation of controls to assure colleagues’ protection. Provides information, instruction and develops hands-on practical training to increase the knowledge of industrial hygiene at all levels of the site. Utilizes Pfizer processes and tools to assess occupational exposures using strategies that align with the AIHA Exposure Assessment Strategy (or equivalent). Provides industrial hygiene guidance to the site emergency response team. Assists with the development and helps to lead the implementation of industrial hygiene control and system improvements across the site. Conduct investigations of working conditions for the prevention of occupational disease and industrial health hazards, with specific reference to toxic substances, noise, and harmful physical agents. Implement Pfizer sampling strategies measuring airborne concentrations of dust, gases, and mists; uses air sampling instruments and collection devices collecting samples of materials to detect and evaluate employee exposure including providing solutions and determining the effectiveness of engineering and administrative controls. Conduct audit of the sites’ systems and processes and implement effective EHS cultural improvement and engagement activities. Review, identify, develop and deliver EHS related training programs. Conduct risk assessments, internal EHS audits, and safety inspections. Maintain EHS systems (e.g., Cority, Enablon, etc.) and develop metrics and trending reports for site leadership. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a master's degree with more than 0+ years of experience; OR an associate's degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and guidelines associated with EHS compliance.
  • A strong understanding of industrial hygiene and safety programs is required.
  • Leadership, analysis, judgment, commensurate with position responsibilities, and levels of Pfizer and agency interaction.
  • Experience performing internal audits of EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI.
  • Experience with safety program development and cross-functional implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, creativity in problem solving, and flexibility.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable making presentations to groups and representing the department/facility externally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing facility and/or contractor safety programs in a pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and liaising with regulatory organizations
  • Strong technical skills for industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental programs
  • Professional related certifications from accredited organizations such as the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Board of Certified Safety Professionals or the National Safety Council, Institute of Hazardous Material Management (ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, IH, EIT, PE, etc.) and /or environmental health and safety management systems (ISO 14001/45001).
  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience in the application of regulations and industrial codes (IBC, NFPA, NEC, etc.) in operations.
  • Experience with in-plant Emergency Response Teams
