About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a EHS Intern. This full-time internship is slated to begin in May 2026. The hourly rate for this position is $20.77 - $25.96 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Position Overview: Over the course of this 12-week paid internship, students will gain hands-on experience supporting environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives at the site. The EHS Intern will assist in maintaining compliance with corporate and site-specific EHS procedures, while learning how to monitor and track EHS objectives and targets. This role provides exposure to internal reporting of EHS performance, communication of regulatory requirements, and participation in activities that strengthen the site’s EHS culture.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled and returning as a junior or senior in a bachelor’s degree program in Environmental Health & Safety or an engineering-related field at an accredited institution.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 (please don't round)

Nice To Haves

  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Prior internship or co-op experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EHS Manager and team with day-to-day activities to support site EHS objectives and compliance.
  • Help collect and input EHS data for tracking performance metrics and reporting purposes.
  • Participate in basic risk assessments and hazard identification activities under supervision.
  • Support the development and organization of EHS training materials and documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining training records and tracking completion status.
  • Help prepare reports and presentations for EHS meetings and audits.
  • Contribute to site EHS initiatives and events that promote safety awareness and engagement.
  • Learn and use EHS tools and systems for data entry and monitoring.
  • Shadow EHS professionals to gain exposure to regulatory compliance, emergency response planning, and continuous improvement processes.
